DISCHARGE PRINTING

We are proud to offer a new t-shirt printing option to our Full Press Apparel customers.

What is discharge printing?

Discharge printing is a process that uses the same equipment and methods as standard screen printing, but a special “discharge” ink instead of regular plastisol ink.

Discharge inks remove the dye from the shirt rather than adding a layer of color on top of the shirt. It’s similar to bleaching a design into the fabric of the garment, but it does not damage the garment in the same way bleach would.

Are there any downsides to using discharge printing?

The discharge process will only work on garments made of natural fibers. Garments made of 100% poly and 50/50 will not discharge well.

Why should I use discharge printing on my custom apparel?

The result of discharge printing is an extremely soft print that allows you to actually see the weave of the garment.
Discharge printing can be used on its own for a soft, one-color print, or it can be used as a base for other colors. You can even pigment discharge inks to achieve a super vibrant color print with a minimal fee.
